Nelly Furtado Joins Annoying Celebrity List
Well I don’t know if you can really call her a celebrity. Since her 2000 “hits” of “I’m Like a Bird” and “Turn off the Light” she disappeared from the limelight, and that was just fine with me. She has the uncanny ability to create a terrible song that lacks any musical merit, and get it played so often that it makes you want to hurl something. I still think “Turn off the Light” would make a great slogan for an energy conservation effort as people would turn off the light just to shut her up, but her new album spotlights her lack of talent. She went from a strange, fully clothed “free spirit” and has now reinvented herself as a sexy assortment of bones covered with a light dose of skin. The song “Promiscuous” is a terrible song for young girls to look up to. It shows a complete lack of morals and diverts from her earlier seemingly innocuous messages. Gone is the spirituality, replaced with a need to “hit it” or have it hit.
Nelly Furtado, for your ability to annoy the heck out of me and pervade the airwaves with your terrible voice you become the second member of the Annoying Celebrity List. You join Britney Spears and maybe you can watch her kids for her while she wastes more television airtime.
