Do I Kill Digital Camera Companies?
I just read from Forbes that Pentax is being taken over by rival optical equipment maker Hoya for $864 million (105 billion yen). I recently bought a Pentax Optio A20 10 megapixel digital camera and I enjoy it. But why do I always buy cameras from companies that recently merged or will in the future? My last camera was the Konica Minolta Dimage G500, which was from Konica and was renamed when Minolta took them over. After that camera started taking fuzzy pictures I returned it and picked up the Pentax Optio A20. It could be that I go for low cost, decent quality cameras from Costco. Maybe they get a good deal during merger talks? My current Pentax camera works very well, taking crisp pictures. I also like all the various settings and modes it have that enable me to take great pictures in any setting. All of my recent pictures and unboxing photos have been taken with it.
