I just realized that in the “Get Info” option for a song in iTunes you can go to the “Options” tab and adjust the volume of a song. I’m not sure how long this has been here, but after buying The Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up from Amazon MP3 I wanted to lower the volume since it sounded louder than most of my other songs. Problem solved. And I love Amazon MP3. Easy to use, high quality mp3s and a new special deal every day. Plus every Friday they have at least 5 $5.00 albums. Amazon Special Deals.
It appears that the Boombox application on Facebook has been removed by its developer. This was an application that let you select songs to display on your Facebook profile. They played in a small Flash area, loading mp3s found on the internet. I’m guessing it was a legal issue. I did noticed two days ago that the Flash part wasn’t loading and the application wasn’t working right.
This facebook listing for The Boombox app’s owner Adam Mosseri (link) now returns no results, showing that the person deleted their Facebook account. Very fishy.
I am now looking for a new application to load on my profile that does the same thing. Unfortunately I do not remember which songs I had listed.
The new Streetlight Manifesto album comes out November 13th. And I will be seeing them play 4 days earlier. Hallelujah! And I noticed the first official music video from Streetlight Manifesto on their website. You can check it out here. It’s pretty cool.
The M-Audio booth was kicking with Johnny Juice of Public Enemy DJing and Darryl “D.M.C” McDaniels from Run DMC was there signing autographs and then gave a performance from his upcoming album. It was absolutely great, and while I still don’t know exactly what M-Audio does I did get a picture with D.M.C. and recorded a few videos of the performances. So check it out. And look at the picture of the software Johnny Juice was using to scratch. Very cool.
Update: M-Audio makes computer-to-analog hardware for music producers, USB inputs for microphones, and midi interface devices. Or so I’ve been told.
The audio isn’t the best but it’s very watchable. This is what came from my little Pentax Optio A20. You get to hear one of his new songs, and then one you will definitely remember. It was just amazing. If the camera moves around it’s being my arms were getting tired or I was trying to ignore an excruciating cramp in my foot. The things I do for my audience.
Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels: new and old (Walk This Way) music at Digital Life 2007:
146,000 people using a jobs Web site sponsored by the U.S. government (USAjobs.gov) had their personal information stolen by hackers who broke into computers at Monster. Data stolen did not include social security numbers.
Sony is closing it’s CONNECT music store and opening up its music players to other formats. Wow. Now that’s how you take on the iPod. Too bad they still won’t win.
Streetlight Manifesto is on tour again this summer. I missed the opportunity to see them, but hopefully they will tour again after their new album comes out. It should be out soon (no word on an actual date, but they have been saying that it’s finished and being mastered now) and they have been playing some of their new songs. It would make sense for them to do a summer ska tour before the new release, so their hardcore fans remember they exist and can drum up some press for the album. So here are a few videos of their new stuff.
