Does anyone know how to get Wordpress MU working on GoDaddy’s Deluxe hosting service? I even have a virtual dedicated ip if that is necessary.
I have looked all over online and not found anything helpful. And GoDaddy didn’t help when I contacted them. They told me I needed to do something to the wp-users file, yet I find nothing about that anywhere and have no idea what that means.
I need to be able to create wordpress blogs quickly on subdomains of a domain. Hence the need for Wordpress MU, and then being able to manage all blogs from one central location. If anyone knows how to do this your help would be greatly appreciated.

Amazon is scaring Kindle news sites that have the term “Kindle” in their domains into handing over control of the domains to Amazon. They are threatening to cancel Amazon Associate accounts and withhold Q1 2008 affiliate revenue. They have already scared a few sites into handing over the domain, but I refuse to let them do this to my Kindle Report news site.
You can read my article on their attempts to strong-arm me here.

How did I miss this? It looks like GoDaddy hosting added support to run Cron jobs sometime last year. And here I thought I had to keep coming up with innovative ways to work around their lack of the feature.
For those who don’t know cron jobs are a way to perform functions based on a timing mechanism. So you can have a script called every hour or ever day at a certain time.

I just wanted to let people know that I am currently tweaking the site navigation. You can see a categories listing across the top of the page now, below the logo. I plan to have sub-categories open up below that listing when a category is visited. But since upgrading to Wordpress 2.3 they made it a lot trickier, so it will take some time to figure out. Especially considering I don’t have much time to work on it each day.
The goal is to have a simpler navigation and open up some space on the right side of the page where the navigation has been and still is. I’ve been visiting CNN so much lately I just had to copy some design elements.
So try out what’s there and let let me know what you think.

For a long time I was always looking for the latest PHP, web development, and technology job openings in the NY/NJ area. Since I don’t need a job anymore, and I keep getting emails about new openings (no matter how hard I try to stop them), I thought I would share them with my readers (all 5 of them). Unfortunately a lot of them are from headhunters and aren’t the most descriptive. So I will highlight some of the more promising ones, and any other jobs that I get wind of from more direct sources. I will also try to highlight any jobs I come across that are with big-name tech companies in the U.S.
So let me know what kinds of jobs you would like to hear about and I will try to hook you up.

As always you will find out about it here. So keep checking the site and reading all the great news that I find and post about almost daily, until which time I make my big unveiling.

I have finally upgraded this site to Wordpress 2.2. Let me know if you come across any problems. Most of the plugins I use seem to be working, but if anything isn’t working let me know so I can fix it.
